Setlist Goes There
series Intro & Outro
I had the pleasure of creating intros & outros
for Setlist.fm’s latest series: Setlist Goes There.
This very first episode Setlist.fm features
Dead & Company’s Dead Forever Experience
at The Venetian in Las Vegas. You can
read more about the experience here.
Animation Concept
A globe forms with collage textured continents popping in one by one over a crumpled paper background. Once all of the continents pop in it forms an entire world globe which begins rotating as the Setlist Goes There title animates in.
The next section forms as the green crumpled paper background swipes upwards and the title paper flips over to show the episode’s Artist Name,
Venue Name & Date on the other side.
A pin animates in and slams into our globe to label the location. The whole animation then crumples like a piece of paper to alpha transition out.
Design & Concept - Phase 01
In this original concept for the design & animation I had just the United States. It was later requested to be a globe instead so the Setlist Goes There series can go world wide.
The 48 states would have popped in over a white crumpled paper background & animate closer to eachother until they form the country.
The Setlist.fm logo animate in next followed by the Goes There tile & location pin. We would then transition to the green crumpled background where we have the Las Vegas Sphere which has a grunge texture on it just like the US states in the previous section.
Location, Date and Artist Name animate in then the whole animation then crumples like a piece of paper to alpha transition out.

Design & Concept - Phase 02
In this second design & animation concept we decided to change the beginning to be a globe design rather than just the United States to not limit the series locations.
As the crumpled blank white paper opens up various continents begin animating in to form a globe & our title card unrolls in. The title card paper then flips over to reveal our artist & location card.
The background swipes upwards to fill the scene green as pin maker flies in to pierce the globe to show our location.
For the alpha transitions I crumpled up a piece of paper & took photos of the various versions to use in the animation.
